Mootritious Milk
You may know cow’s milk for its calcium content, but it has much more to offer. This complex and nutritious liquid offers a variety of health benefits.
Consumption of half a litre of whole milk daily supplies a significant amount of many of the body’s nutrient requirements. Milk components take part in metabolism in several ways; by providing essential amino acids, vitamins, minerals and fatty acids, and by affecting absorption of nutrients.
Milk fat is diverse with a wide-ranging spectrum of fatty acids and lipids. Many milk fat components have important roles in the body.
Milk protein is especially rich in amino acids that stimulates muscle synthesis, and some proteins and peptides in milk have a positive health effect e.g. on blood pressure, inflammation, oxidation and tissue development.
Whole milk may also delay gastric emptying from the stomach and possibly have an effect on appetite regulation.
Buy Our Mootritious Milk?
We're offering our Mootritious Milk for local customers to buy direct from the farm where it's produced. Fresh, pasteurised, non-homogenised, whole milk will be available from the vending and coffee machine daily.

Yes, it'll be pasteurised. Our milk is gently heat treated (pasteurised) which removes any unfriendly bacteria but keeps all the nutritious goodness.
It's non-homogenised. This means all the healthy fats are retained and you'll notice a layer of fat (cream) on top of the milk if it has been left a while, this is perfectly normal. Just give it a good shake in the bottle before you use it or enjoy the cream as it is, for a delicious treat.

The majority of supermarket milk undergoes much more processing stages. It is homogenised and treated a higher temperatures than our Mootritious Milk.

"I tried your Mootritious Milkshake (I had the salted caramel one). I liked it because I could taste proper milk from the cows. Also I liked the salted caramel. My overall rating is 5 stars."

Why We Choose Gentle Pasteurisation for Mootritious Milk
Milk pasteurised at lower temperatures, typically 63°C for 30 minutes, is generally considered better than high-temperature (75°C for 30 minutes or longer) because it preserves more of the milk's natural nutrients, enzymes, and flavour.
Advantages of Lower Temperature Pasteurisation:
Preserves Nutrients: Helps retain essential vitamins, minerals, and enzymes that are beneficial for digestion and overall health.
Retains Natural Flavor: Preserves the milk's natural flavour, making it taste fresher and more enjoyable.
Maintains Beneficial Bacteria: Some beneficial bacteria may survive low-temperature pasteurisation, potentially promoting a healthier gut microbiome.
Improved Digestion: May help some individuals with lactose intolerance due to better digestion of milk proteins.
Less Damaged Proteins: Generally causes less denaturation of milk proteins compared to high-temperature methods.
High-Temperature Pasteurisation can lead to nutrient degradation, including vitamins and enzymes. It also changes the flavour and texture of the milk, making it taste less natural. It can kill all beneficial bacteria, including probiotics, which are important for gut health. Lastly, it denatures milk proteins, making them less digestible for some individuals.
Why We Don’t Homogenise our Mootritious Milk
In non-homogenised milk, the heavier fat particles (cream) separate from the rest of the milk, resulting in a visible layer of cream at the top of the container. By avoiding this additional process, the milk retains its natural state and the natural structure of the fat globules is preserved, which may help maintain the integrity of fat-soluble vitamins, such as A, D, E and K.
Some studies also suggest that non-homogenised milk is easier to digest
